Help - Certificado de Antecedentes Penales
We want you to feel confident that the people you meet on Babysits are trustworthy. One way we do that is by having members in Guatemala add a "Certificado de Antecedentes Penales". Babysits completes verification checks on submitted documents.
Is adding a document safe?
Once Babysits has completed verification checks, your document will be removed from our servers. Your document will never be shared with anyone who uses Babysits or any third parties, for any reason.
How is a document checked?
Members capture images of their document using their desktop or mobile phone camera. Machine learning is used to assess whether the document is authentic, and whether the name and date of birth on the document match the details on their submitted government ID. In some cases, a Babysits team member may also review the document.
In most cases verification is processed quickly, but manual review may take up to 1 week. Added documents must be less than 2 years old and may not be expired.
What are the limitations of this check?
Completing this process is not an endorsement of any member, does not guarantee the authenticity of the document with 100% certainty, and is not an assurance that interacting with them will be safe. We recommend checking the document in person during your first meeting, as well as the document expiration date and date of birth. Always use your own best judgment, and follow our safety tips.
